'I let my daughter get her belly pierced at 10

A mum has hit back at trolls who slammed her for her parenting choices as she allowed her daughter to get her belly pierced at 10-years-old, but doesn't care what people think

A mum has been slammed online for letting her daughter get her belly pierced at 10-years-old. Despite being shamed for it, she doesn't care and is in full support of her pre-teens choice. Self-proclaimed "bad mum" Whitney Ainscough recently went viral for also allowing her daughter to get acrylic nails which resulted in her "crying in pain" after they snapped due to being too long.

The mum has now been slated again this time for allowing the body modification for her young daughter. Taking her to the shop herself to get it done, she admitted she knows it will "divide opinions" but is confident the piercing will be looked after properly.

Although the mum has now been subject to abuse online, with many people telling her she was wrong to allow it after she shared a video on her TikTok page. Whitney responded to a question that asked why her daughter has the piercing, and the 30-year-old mum simply responded: "Because I'm her mum. And I said she could, " and further admitted that she "doesn't see no issue with belly piercing a 10-year-old".

"But at the end of the day, I'm her mum, I'm the one who takes responsibility for whatever she's got done. It is clean, it is looked after," she added, as she spoke to the camera defending her decision in front of a picture of her daughter. The video has already amassed a lot of attention, with hundreds of comments slamming her parenting, but some were defending her actions.

One TikToker was left less than impressed, as they commented: "It's classed as child abuse whoever did it is liable for prosecution," whilst another added: "It's not right, let her be a child, why don't you just let her smoke," and one concerned viewer stressed it could cause health issues and said: "Doesn't anyone read about keloids!!?? She is so young!"

But other mums admitted they also let their daughters get the piercing at a young age. One mum chimed: "My daughter turned 11 last week and got her belly done about three weeks ago. She wanted it done, knows how to look after it and keep it clean so why not," whilst a fellow user replied: "My 11-year-old has hers done because all her mates had, kids just want to fit in and I allow it to an extent. They are growing up."
